Great experience at Black Sheep in Manassas. I started with the Mediterranean garlic shrimp, which was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. For my main dish, I had the short rib rigatoni, and it was outstanding—tender short rib, rich sauce, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was inviting, and the food felt thoughtfully prepared. Definitely a place I’d return to and recommend.
We enjoyed an early Sunday dinner at The Black Sheep Restaurant in Manassas, VA, and once again it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This marked our sixth visit, and the consistency in quality and service continues to impress. We began with the calamari and Mediterranean garlic shrimp—both perfectly prepared and full of flavor—paired with an Irish coffee, a crisp Chardonnay, and a classic gin martini. A wonderful start to the evening. For entrées, I had the Grilled Lemon Chicken, featuring a Mediterranean garlic chicken kabob served with refreshing cucumber tzatziki, lemon fondant potatoes, a beautifully grilled tomato, and sumac onions—bright, balanced, and absolutely delicious. One of us enjoyed the Pulled Short Rib Rigatoni, a rich and comforting dish with 12-hour braised beef, oversized al dente pasta, a lemon-Chardonnay butter sauce, horseradish cream, and fresh torn herbs. Our son chose the American Wagyu Burger, made with wagyu beef, white cheddar, lettuce, bacon jam, and crispy onions, served alongside fries and a gochujang dipping sauce—he cleaned the plate. Dessert was the perfect finale. We shared the Bourbon Butter Cake, a house-made bourbon-infused butter cake with bourbon caramel sauce and crème anglaise; the Chocolate Torte, featuring layers of chocolate crémieux, Valrhona mousse, chocolate glaze, citrus meringue, chocolate crumble, and seasonal berries; and a special, decadent bread pudding presented with a single candle to celebrate our birthday guest of honor—a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. Our waiter was exceptionally pleasant, professional, and attentive, adding to an already outstanding dining experience. The Black Sheep Restaurant consistently delivers fine dining in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere without breaking the bank. It remains a must-visit whenever we’re in Northern Virginia, and we will absolutely return. Thank you for another memorable evening.
This is a hidden gem. Their hush puppies, bread, branzino, and carrot cake are the real stars. Carrot cake is huge and delicious! The deviled eggs, espresso beignet, and burger were just okay. Disappointed with the fries that came with the burger the crispy fingerling potatoes were more tasty, fresh, and had more crunch than the fries. I originally ordered a grilled chicken kabob because the waiter said it was chicken breast - it was definitely NOT chicken breast.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was pure art. The atmosphere and the price were both perfect. Our server, Hillary, was outstanding—she answered all of our questions with care, was extremely kind, and truly perfect in every way. The menu changes every six months, parking lots is available about a minute away, the restroom is on the first floor, and the restaurant itself is located on the second floor.
Went to the Black Sheep for my anniversary dinner and the restaurant was beautiful!!! The entire area is already decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. I loved the card from the restaurant for our anniversary. For an appetizer the chicken wings were ordered with their sauces on the side. I ordered the grilled pear salad with salmon and my husband got the special which was a veal chop. Both were prepared perfectly and our server Biene was so awesome, I appreciated his help and suggestions for what to eat. I would highly recommend The Black Sheep for any dinner plans!!
I want to say that this place is just amazing, not only the food, service and atmosphere but the waiter’s personality and knowledge of the menu. A big thank you to our waiter Gadeyon for making our dinner an amazing experience. my daughter and her friend we very happy that i took them to eat there. We are from north jersey and we really want to go back some day. 10 stars for our waiter Gadeyon.
Dining at The Black Sheep in Manassas was an experience worth remembering. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere struck me rustic charm blended with modern elegance, making it feel both welcoming and special. The food was outstanding: the scallops were perfectly seared, the mac & cheese rich and comforting, and the burger packed with flavor. Drinks were equally impressive, with a whiskey list that made choosing a challenge in the best way. What stood out most was the service. The staff didn’t just serve they engaged, recommended, and made me feel like my visit mattered. That combination of great food, thoughtful drinks, and genuine hospitality turned a simple night out into something memorable. They went out of their way to assure the allergies were addressed by the manager personally. If you’re in Manassas and want more than just a meal, The Black Sheep delivers an experience that lingers long after you leave.
We always have a great time at Black Sheep. The food is consistently excellent, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service is usually spot-on. It’s one of our go-to spots in Manassas and a place I genuinely enjoy returning to. That said, on a recent visit during the holidays, I brought my daughter for the first time and was a little disappointed to find there was no hot chocolate on the menu. The staff kindly tried to put something together for her, which I appreciated, but unfortunately it wasn’t hot and ended up being a bit subpar. Overall, this won’t stop us from coming back—we still love Black Sheep—but during the holiday season especially, having a simple, well-done hot chocolate option would be a nice touch for families.
